ok..instead of doing a stroker or a 306/308, im just gonna order the TFS engine kit and run that til the motor blows, then, ill upgrade. question is....what gears do you all think i should get ? keep in mind i have a '92 GT, so, the added weight, i could use 3.73's a lil more maybe, but, i do a lot of highway driving and want to keep SOME gas mileage when i go home. so..what do you all think ? thanks

not untill 5200 rpm is there even a 300 rpm difference between 3.55's and 3.73's. so if your doing Xmph with 3.55's at 2500rpm, to do the same speed with 3.73's, youd only have to rev to 2650ish 150rpm, big deal! youll never notice the gas difference if you drove the car 100miles a day 7 days a week. the difference is so small.

with my 3.73's I noticed on the highway doing 100kph, the rpm is at 2200 in 5th gear.
with stock 3.08's I think it was at 2100 rpm.
I was worried about my gas mileage too, but it is hardly noticeable.
but you will go through more fuel, since it is funner to drive it hard.
I love the acceleration it gives.

but if I could have done it over, I would have went with 4.10's.
I have a buddy with a 2002 gt and he has 4.10's and it accelerates faster than mine.
I like the "whiplash effect"

How does the OD in a AOD compare to the OD in a five speed. Just wondering, because this would be a factor in your rear end gear selection.

im definitely NOT gettin 4.10's !!! thats too high. i do too much highway driving. cuz when i go home, its 4-4.5hrs away from school.......so, i want SOME gas mileage[8D]
