switchin to carb from fuel injection..benefits??
how hard is it to go to a carb setup from and efi 5.0 ? and is it worth it. ..the reason i ask is, i have been doing some reading and all the drag car mustangs i saw for the most part were carbd. so im guessing that there is a good reason for that, i just dont know what it is.
i assume i just plug the fuel line to the carb on the new intake but what about the computer? its no longer needed? im sure i sound like and idiot, but you wont know till you ask.
thanks in advance for any input.

The only benefits are drastically reduced cost and greater ease of tuning.
Everything else will be about the same or worse, especially fuel mileage and cold weather performance.

i have been doing the same thing and im sure its covered in here somewhere but what i was wondering is what all new parts would you need, for instance would the fuel pump still work like it is or would it have to be rewired? need a new distributor or any thing else other than a carb and intake?

With a carb you dont have to worry about upgrading the MAF sensor and injectors as the power increases. Carbs today are way better than the ones in the 60's and 70's. Plus it looks cleaner under the hood.

as said before going carb is gonna be a lot cheaper, and IF you understand carbs and know the ins and outs of em i feel they will make more power. but if you dont know anything about carbs then dont switch! itll be your worst nightmare. you will lose some mpg not much if its setup right, cold weater startups arent a problem again if the choke is set right. remember these are all things automatically done by the ecm on an efi setup. my 2 cents is if its daily driven then keep the efi, if you plan on major engine mods in my opinion itll run better with a properly tuned carb setup. ive personally done it and im extremely pleased with the results. and ps contraryto what some people say i dont need to retune from season to season, i havent had to touch my carb since it was tuned 2 yrs ago, well other than fuel filter changes.
