EGR and explorer intake questions
Ok so i picked up gt40p heads and an explorer intake, with the heads and the fact that i dont have to pass emissions i want to delete the EGR but dont know what i have to do with with the uppger intake and the EGR spacer to do that. The intake is one of the early ones with internal EGR so i heard it could cause detonation deleteing EGR with this intake.

RE: EGR and explorer intake questions
Nope..... install lower intake and block the center EGR ports on the heads (intake gasket set should have 2 metal tabs). To delete the EGR (or have the EEC delete it automatically, all you have to do is cause an EGR failure code). The resistor EVP simulators will cause code 33 to be logged, the system will delete EGR function, no driveability problems will be caused, and the CEL will not illuminate. Any other type of failure code (31, 34, 35) will cause the CEL to illuminate, but the EGR function will also be deleted w/out causing any driveability problems.

RE: EGR and explorer intake questions
get something like this here that will get rid of the egr, and the hot coolant running through your intake as well as give you a place to mount the throttle cable to, i'm guessing this is a fox? if not please correct me. but if it's a sn you could plug up the holes with block filler just to be safe. and then get this since sn's need the elbow

RE: EGR and explorer intake questions
I was under the impression that GT40Ps didnt have anything for EGR??
So basicly just put the spacer on that eliminates the EGR and get rid of the lines that run to it? Then just check for codes?
and yea sorry its a fox
