Default Vortech FMU vs Fuel Pressure Regulator

I hear of alot of guys getting rid of their FMU that came with the blower and getting a Fuel pressure regulator. What is the reason behind this and how does it work? Thanks

Just because you have an afpr doesn't mean you can ditch the fmu. You need at least 42# injectors to be able to feed enough gas w/o an fmu.

yeah I think you were getting confused. 42# injectors and adj fpr will work fine to ditch FMU

u also need a good size fuel pump, 255lph pump with #42 injectors will be good to around 500hp.. the reason u have an FMU is to stop the return fuel going back to the tank and it boosts fuel pressure at WOT.. Really its just a band-aid.

Theysell recalibration kits for the fmu depending on what size injectors you have. If your running the stock fmu with your 30# you are probably running rich. You want the 6:1 kit.
