Default 347 w/ Main Support and oil dipstick problems

I got around to putting the dip stick tube and dip stick into the block today and I'm running into something with the dipstick. Am I running into the main support with the dipstick or what do you guys think. I didn't know that I couldn't use a factory pan with a main support and have these problems or I would have bought a different pan and dip stick. Let me know something guys.

you got a cheap ebay girdle without a hole for the dipstick? If so thats your problem, as for a stock pan, they work fine, if anything gotta play with the curve that goes around the oil pump

I did indeed buy one of the cheap girdles without the provisions for the dip stick. I got it mounted ok with a little bit of clearance issues that a little deburring bit didn't take car of around the oil pump housing. I never thought in all my world that it would have came to this. I did bend the crap out of the dip stick at the end of it and got it cobbled up to go in and out of the pan, but I am not satisfied with it at all. It got me insanely pissed off to the 10th power. If I would have known that it would have caused these problems, I would have went a different route. First time I built an engine with a main support. My ignorance is truely the fault of this problem. Wished that some of these "internet" super engine builders would have let me know something before I went this far with the build.

I HAVE a trick flow one that went on a previous motor and we clearanced it around the pump housing and bent the dip stick appropriately

I talked to the Summit tech line about my problem when it first reared it's ugly head today and the guy told me over the phone that if I would have gotten a Trick Flow main support, that they come with aprovision or a hole in the support for the oil dip stick. Did yours have a hole in it or no?

I asked the guy at Summit about that also. He said I would run into the same problem with the dip stick provision in the pan. I felt like screamin curse words at him but I kept my composure and went ahead and put a battery on the car and wired up the Ford Racing mini starter and got it to spin the engine over correctly. I ran the valves on it last night. All I got left to do now is pre oil it, drop in the MSD dizzy and 6AL box and it will be fire in the hole.
