Just a question, but why are not going with the Twisted Wedge heads?
Thats a good question I have a question though... I want to get some TW 170s. Will they be ok with an E cam with stock bottom? I want something I can use on my stock block untill I get my 347 going. Would the 170s be aite for a 347 build? Thanks!

I prefer AFR heads because they are a FULL CNC head and have lighter valvetrain (8 mm valves (not 11/32) and lighter springs).

The TFS heads are nice, but I prefer the AFR heads. The port finish is just better.

yeah the port finish is better as the afr's come cnc machined and the regular 170 tw's dont but then u can buy trickflow 185 cnc 'ed heads that will outflow afr 185's[:'(]

and to the op about the 170 heads on there car with the e cam until u can stroke it yes they will work for a stroker ,as i would get some port work done when u swap over to the stroker and get the track heat heads with the dual valve springs or throw on a set of anderson motorsports hi rev springs as i did and call it good. until u up the motor a bit.

Yes, it outflows on the intake side, but not the exhaust side.

The TFS cylinder head is a shorter runner, which creates less piping, which helps better flow (minus the intake runner).

The TFS is a good cylinder head, but I prefer full CNC and a lighter valvetrain like the OEM is now going!

Flow is not everything. Per square inch, the AFR 165 flows better in the upper lift ranges, which is where power potential occurs.

TrickFlowTech,

What's the biggest cam that can be run on a stock bottom end with the 170 heads. And what are the cost of these heads from Trick Flow or would I have to go through a vendor somewhere to get them. Can you make deals off of here for forum members? I will be in the market for a set of small heads for a stock 89 that I'm gonna do some minor upgrades to.
