cobra intake
i currently have a edelbrock performer 5.0 on my stang but i love the way the cobra looks and am thinking of switching. which one performs better with thestock heads and an E cam on the car? also im thinking bout buying gt40x's and if i do which intake would be better suited for that combo?

RE: cobra intake
i have thought of that but....idk the cobra just grew on melol. im just wondering if it flows as good or better than the eddie. and which intake would work better on a set of gt40xs

RE: cobra intake
i think u should keep the edelbrock rpm over the cobra as the edelbrock comparing both out of the box the eddy will flow better and i would not waste the money to switch instead use the money for a good set of heads

As of right now it makes little to no difference seeing as you have stock heads. The Cobra intake can make pretty good power on a 302 and since GT40 heads aren't insane I think there's a good chance the Cobra intake will be plenty. I'm not good with intake stuff though.

RE: cobra intake
I bought a ford racing 302 that comes with gt40 aluminum heads and an e cam, the guy that did my heads is pretty well known expecially in north east fl. when he was porting my heads he asked me what intake do i have, i told him i need to buy one. I asked the same question only i asked which is the best intake out there. he told me for my set up that a ported and polished cobra will match up perfectly with the ported and polished gt 40s.
Well he did something right because I put down 300 to the wheels which is pretty good for the set up i have. it was on a mustang dyno too which i hear read lower than a dynojet.

RE: cobra intake
The cobra intake is perfectly fine. IMO it is the BEST street intake available. It is awesome for stock/close to stock setups and then with a little porting, it flows great with even more agressive setups. It's all about power under the curve. You don't want to pick a intake based on it's peak flow numbers. Flow throughout the RPM range is where it is at. My car put down the numbers in my sig with a ported GT40 and that was with a VERY conservative mail order tune with no timing and letting out at 5200 rpms. Once the car comes back with a real tune, it should easily lay down 500+ to the tire all with the little stock Cobra intake.
