Default leak on stock upper intake?

...its a black 2"x3" black plastic cover on the front right sideof stock upper intake is leaking. On the Cobra intake its just a round2" plug, similar to block freeze plugs. I noticed carbon residue that you see on exhaustconnections when you have a leak. What the hell is this thing...i always wondered[&:].

No i don't think so...theres a trail of black smoke from exhaust leaking there. It looks like it is held on by double sided adhesive tape or something.

Yep thats it....thecoverhas alway been loose, but I have never seen a trail ofresidue that looks like its blowing out ifthe top of it. If a cap is behind it, I'll just take it off. What the hell is this capfor anyway.

if that cap is an opening into your intake and you find carbon there, that is probably blowby oil from your PCV system. In other words, your PCV is throwing oil into the intake and that oil gets carbonized from the heat and oxygen present in the intake. What you are seeing in your intake is not exhaust gas but carbon build up from oil vapors.
