New clutch?

New clutch?
I don't usually dump clutches in any of my cars but I did it today when the roads were getting slick and I reved it up and dropped the clutch the car just kind of bogged and didn't even chirp. I am guessing this means the clutch is shot. I am very low on cash so I am thinking of dropping in a stock replacement from the parts store. Has anyone on here ever used a parts store clutch?

RE: New clutch?
I don't think the problem is with my engine, I don't think there is a stock 5.0 in exsistance that cannot spin the tires from a stop. Once the car began to roll and I gassed it she kicked right out and spun um

I must have let it out too slow or something. That is the second time I have ever popped the clutch in my car its hard to believe since I have had the car 7 months and 18yrs old haha

yeah, clutch poppage + wetness = spinnage and some fishtailing. if the clutch was slipping you would bounce off the rev limiter, and not have any fun factor. bogging means something else, what rpm were you at when you dumped it?

and i know what you mean about not dumping the clutch. i had mine for a year, went from everything broke when i got it, to replacing just about everything to ge tit on the road. the first time i dumped it was in the water box at the drag strip lol....interesting experience indeed. wanna talk about nerves?
