im close to finishing swapping the T5 for the AOD. Went to turn the key today to fire up the motor and no surprise i get nothing.

I am assuming it is because the NSS. I have nothing plugged into that and the backup light harness coming off the trans right now. I have the harness coming to me in the mail.

But i was wondering if there was any way i could get around not having the harness right now. it would be great to get the car started so i can check for leaks and such with this new motor so that when the harness comes in i can just plug that up.

I'm not sure which wires it is, but the 4 wires that goes into the safety switch plug, there is two wires that you can jump out in the harness and it will allow you to start the car. I am just not sure which wires it is. I just had to do it myself last week, but my car is about 14" off the ground on jack stands and my buddy went under the car to jump them out and I didn't even bother to ask him which ones it was.

ok look at your aod trany and it has a plug(NSS) that you disconected when you removed the tranny unscrew it from the tranny and plug it back in to your car once you do that your (NSS) will work like astart button but you also have 2 crank the key hope this helps

A few people have told me to jump the NSS. Im confused on where to put this jumper though. Where is this harness i should be jumping. I would assume its coming from the computer. Becuase if i just did it to the NSS harness coming of the trans how would that send any signal to the computer

^^^^no is doesn't come from the computer..the computer has nothing to do with the start circuit/crank....on your aod by the shift select lever..there should of been something plugged in there = PRNDL switch = 4 wire connector ..harness end comes out of tranny tunnel on car on driver side....locate it and jump two wires needed to complete circuit

Yeah i dont have any harness right now tho thats what i was saying. I am doing the swap and am waiting on the harness to get here. So right now i have no wires coming out from underneath the car

^^^^^with the aod there.... initially there had to be aharness that plugged into the aod prndl switch....was this a running /starting car before the swap??

Well i got the car as a roller. It did have a 5 speed harness one with the 3 plugs. I took it out to put in the AOD one which i havent gotten yet. I do still have the 5 speed one tho. So your saying i can jump it using the 5 speed harness?
