Default 1988 Heater Core...

A friend of mine has a 1988 mustang gt with the 5.0HO and a 5 Speed Stick. His heater core is bad and he has A/C in the car. So he showed me an artical from a mustang magizne from november of 2000 showing how to do the fix. So I got the dash board pulled out of the car and I removed the 3 screews but the passanger side the bax torwad the front of the car will not come up so there for I can't remove the heater core cover to get to it. any ideas? I have already started to remove the a/c lines under the hood to pull the whole unit out but I'd rather not do that, but if I have to, I will...

Thanks for any ideas...

Jim

you have to remove a/c lines and accumulator/ reciever dryer and remove the two nuts that secure the box to the firewall and one or two inside the car
