Default overheat Q's

how hot do your guys valve covers get?
mine get so hot I can barely touch them, and is it normal to get super hot?
I just put some new 1.6 roller rockers on

is is possible my valves are letting some fire into the valve covers?
my motor ran lean for a while and now it isnt running right.

what are the symptoms of a blown head gasket, besides the obvious white smoke.
my coolant has little tiny bubbles in it when its running, and my oil too has really tiny bubbles in it.

thanks in advance
