sorry for the newb question but.. i just got my 88 gt and i want to do a tune up. I have 500 to spend and want to do the basic tune up to my car like spark plugs, wires, and change oil... what all do I need for a good tune up and some good brands?

autolite plugs, get a k@n air filter, 10w 30 oil and fl-1a filter, ford racing 9mm wires and if you feel like it a performance coil, cap and rotor with brass terminals.....all this shouldn't cost more than 150.00 to 200.00 max depending on brands purchased

Couldn't have said it better myself . You might also want to replace the fuel filter, sometimes it can get overlooked. I know how it is to buy a car and wonder what's happened to it/what needs to be replaced.
