mass airflow how important???

Default mass airflow how important???

I have an 88 gt... not mass airflow and some people tell me you have to have it to get anything out ofy our mods and some dont.. I'm a newb to mustangs.. whats the story on this?

The mass air measures how much air is going into the motor. The more mods you have the more important it is. You have a speed density stang and will need to be upgraded to MAF if you really want to get into serious HP.

you can have either speed density or mass air and get about the same results. This thing is that with Mass Air, your computer can adjust itself to the new modifications so that your car performs correctly with them. If you have a speed density car, then after each modification you do, you will have to send off your chip to have it recalibrated for the new modifications. This could run you into a lot of money and time. Just upgrade to mass air, you will understand once you start modding your car. It makes things just so much easier.

if you plan on doing any high hp mods you will need maf. heads, cam super charger, stuff like that

you only need to convert when you are going to be messing with changing the heads and the cam
