Im thinking about getting an electric fan, i don't like hearing it when the engine revs and im assuming i'll gain some power from taking the motor fan off. How many cfm's does a stock 5.0L need, if anyone has done this did you notice a significant power gain after? thanks

Just make sure that you run it through a relay and not just to a on off switch.

I'm running an sn95 electric fan from a '95 mustang gt. I didn't HAVE to upgrade the alt, but it was a good idea so I grabbed the 3g alt from the sn95 aswell & cut a little to make it fit.

Like dazzalad said, run it from a relay, not just a switch.

I am very interested in doing this mod to my 92 GT so if i can find a ford taurus or a sn95 stang in the junk yard all i need is there fan and a better ALT? sounds easy...

also sounds cheaper than going with all new stuff. will it work as well as the new stuff you can buy online
