coil spring question

alright well so today i had my stang parked in the garage(rare occasion) but anyway i walked in n realized it sits way to freakin high lol...i think i had a pic on here once that more than a few made the comments that it was one of the highest sitting sn95's they had ever seen...unfortunatly the funds just are not there for goin all out like i had wanted to...i have seen pics of stangs with cut springs(think jasper put some up) and really all i want right now is looks...i hardly get to drive it as much as i used to so i dont care that its gonna ride like crap..but my actual question is when i cut them..how much and i assume from the bottom of the spring? idk..if not let me know...but i have heard about a coil n a half...and i know not to use heat to cut them...im lookin for at least 1 1/2 to 2 inches because really its rediculus..ill look for a pic of the side so u get the point..sry for the drawn out post but thanks for any answers too

heres that pic..u can really tell in this one how high it is

Looks real good.

when you are working on the rears, try to get the car to the point where the back of the front wheel well, and the front of the rear wheel well, are even

also, rear springs are easy as hell to remove. open up your trunk and remove all the liners. you will see where your shocks come through the floor.
Unbolt them and raise the rear end of the car. put the body on jack stands and lower the rear end.

the rear will drop far enough that the springs will literally fall out

RE: coil spring question

thanks for the info adder...that helps a lot knowing that..i know everyone always said that the rear was easier but thanks for makin that clear for me..oh ya i read one of the posts that i have to unhook a brake line, doing your method will that be necessary?

RE: coil spring question

definitly NOT necessary to unhook the brake line.

in the 3 years that I have had my cobra, I have put 3 different sets of springs in it. and the ONLY time I had to unhook the rear intermediate brake hose, was when I swapped axles!

I bet you can see why!

RE: coil spring question

my opinion, i like how it looked in the pic after u cut the fronts down, just needed bigger tires in the back then, but whatever makes u happy lil dude
