Full Throttle

RE: Full Throttle
The first time it happened I was shifting and headed for an intersection, fortunately, I was only in 3rd gear. I had brain lock for a second, but then the light went off and I just shut the engine off and cruised to the side of the road. The car never started, so it was towed and had the throttle positioning sensor fixed. The cruise control cable was unhooked, but it still happened again. I haven't checked the carpet thing (Gosh, I hope its not that simple), but I will, its currently at the shop, so I will just relay the messages, thanks again.

RE: Full Throttle
it stands to reason that the car would not start if the throttle was all the way down... the car enters "flood clear" mode and stops firing the injectors... hence, no fuel to start
go otu to the car, and with it NOT RUNNING, slam the accelerator down to the floor a few times... see if it gets caught on anything, then go out into the engine bay and see if the TB butterfly is hanging up internally, like MJR said

RE: Full Throttle
the same thing happend to me friday night..... i pulled outta my street, kinda got on it, and went to shift and the pedal was stuck to the floor.... i shut the key off and the tack was stuck at 7k..... i managed to free the pedal up and get it home, but i found that someone had the throttle cable routed inbetween several different things that had a lot of sharp turns to it and the butterfly was rubbing up against the plastic covering on the fuel injection wires..... i rerouted the cable so that it was a straight shot and fixed it so it was completly free of hitting anything...... i also had someone keep pumping theaccelerator to the floor and i oiled the the spring under the throttle body...... made a huge difference.... so far it hasent gotten stuck again.... and the pedal accelerates and returns easier and smoother than it ever has!

RE: Full Throttle
Hmm, I check the pedal and the throttle body with car off, nothing. I never checked the pedal when the vehicle went full throttle, I will have to remember that next time!!! I guessI have to wait to start it because it floods when the full throttle thing happens!
