I wonder if you got an aftermarket Kmember (like MM Kmember that increases front wheel base 3/4") then the 9 inch rims would fit on the front with no rub.

I have seen 18x9 on the front and 18x10 on the rear for a early 90s vert but have no clue what he did to get that

I have 17x8 in front and 17x9 in back, no rub. the stock pony rims are 16x7, not 16x8
