T5 question/problem
I power-shifted into 3rd, made a bang and that was it for 3rd and 4th gear. 1st, 2nd, 5th, and reverse all pull fine with no unusual noises. Hear is my question, is it junk now or could it be a cheap fix. This is my 2nd T5 and I will not buy another. If there no chance of a relatively inexpensive fix I'm buying a tremec.
PS I know that I should lay off the power-shifting but where is the fun in that!
|

T5 question/problem
No way of knowing until you pull it apart, whenyou rebuild it (if you do) do it with a world class kit, its a little more but will be stronger as it has hardened parts. A tremec though is always the best way to go, but a new one will cost 1300 bucks or so, and you still need a different clutch, shifter, and bellhousing. You may need more Im not sure.

Only other thing I can think of is grinding off the tabs on the cross member so you can slide it back an inch.
|
