broke main shaft on t5 after h/c/i
so about a week after i put an explorer intake ported/milled e7s and a b-cam and trickflow springs to match with a 70mm t-body and spacer... the car snapped the main shaft near the end where the 3-4th shift hub is ... pos t-5s now i need a main shaft.... all this on 19lb injectors still.... damn shame i had to drive home about 40 miles with 1-2-5 ...
anyone know how much the stock t-5 main shafts are rated at torque wise. i figure i was making atleast 300 foot pounds to snap the ****ing shaft like this.

There has to be more to the story... A T5 mainshaft should be able to handle 500+hp. I bet the machined end of your mainshaft that rides inside the input shaft was pitted. That puts alot of stress on that part. But the point is, a mild h/c/i is not what caused the problem, just what finished it.
