Default Smog pump removal

Hey guys I have a question I was gunna remove my smog pump yesterday but ran into a problem. I read on a post that the holes on the heads could be plugged with two 5/8 course thread bolts well turns out that they were too big. Does anyone know how big these hole are? and also what do should I use to cap off the vaccuum lines? Thanks

just go and buy a bunch of bolts and see what fits. I forget what size I used but I got the information from a tech article. Anyway, I got the right thread/bolt size but I couldnt find the right length so I had to cut the bolts down. Try and stay away from this, it makes a complete PITA job already much worse. I'll try to find that tech article that I used for ya.

you probably have alot of carbon built up in the passages. take a battery terminal bottle brush and some carb cleaner to them.

There was too much carbon to plug the heads when I did this. The metal line that goes to each head was completely clogged on one side. I ended up plugging them w/ the quick dry JB weld.
