Default backfiring through intake and losing power

Finally got the roller that i bought up and running. it has a stock 302 with explorer intake. Seems to run great just idling. FP is set at 36 w vaccume off. Timing is right around 12. It even pulls healthy at WOT. a bit slower then what i expected but it goes up through the RPMS no problem.

However every now and then while driving it when i give it just like 25% throttle it will pop really bad and lose all power. It will feel like it just wants to die. If i were to go WOT it clears up tho.

The roller was sitting for a while before i got it. Do you guys think its a possibilty that the lines or the pump has gotten gunked up? only FP gauge i got is rail mounted so i havent had the chance to see if the FP is dropping off when it does this. Gonna get some line so that i can though. Thats only idea i got. Anything else you guys might have in mind please let me know.

It is an AOD car, and i dont have the speedo up but the VSS doesnt control any kind of fuel delivery does it

you advanced it further.... duh

your distributor is probably in wrong, or perhaps your balancer is not straight
