i have an 89 gt that makes a grinding noise when i let off of the gas but goes away when i step back on the gas, the crazy thing is it does not do it in 4th gear, the tranny does whine pretty loud but still shifts great. the car vibrates at around 3500 rpm and aqlso in any gear around 60-70 mph. i replaced the throw out bearing thinking it was the problem but i was wrong, any ideas guys?

pull the drain and see about putting new fluid in. the whine may be a bad pilot bearing

hahaha mines been doing it for 4 months now. i gave on figuring it out since the tranny is old so my theory is drive it till it blows up!!
