i have an 87 with stock everything besides my exhaust (glass packs and dumps people think its the fastest car in the world haha) i just to the engine out and put it back in with a new clutch and fixed oil leaks. i have a 1500-2000 rpm idle i check the vac lines they dont seem to bad and befor i start replacing them anyone no of any other causes for a idle that high its driving me nuts i miss my low 5.0 rumbling idle

check the iac, the tps voltage, timing, and check around the manifold for vaccume leaks, one way is to spray brakelean around and see if idle drops, also stick your hand in around the back and wiggle the lines see if you can make the idle change, one big thing is the pcv.
