good price on gt40s??
i found a set of good condition used gt40 heads they aren;t the p's that came off the explorers casting number is f3ze-aa if that helps anyone, is 450 plus shipping a good deal? and how much could i port these heads

i would say heel no that is too much a year ago i paid 450 for a set of 93 cobra gt 40's that had been tanked ported to hell ,new bigger valves 3 angle valve job,new valve springs,seats,retainers, with a set of crane conversion rocker kit so.... i think u should keep lookin or jew him down............

thanks guys it was an ebay deal i was thinking about getting them perted and put in new valves and springs, i think i might just bite the bullet and get a new set of edelbrocks or something

$300 is typical, less is better and not totally uncommon. look at craigslist in your area for better deals
and yes, those heads can be ported to work extremely well. if you pay $300 for the heads and about $300 in port work... they will perform better than box stock aluminum heads.
my buddy went 11.80's w/ those heads on a box stock gt40 tubular intake, 125 shot, and et drags, this was a full weight '92 gt 5-speed
the main part to concentrate on is port match the lower intake, port the exhaust ports, comp valve job and smooth out the turns.
unless your gonna stroke it, thats all you'll get out of it w/out going hi compression big money motor

they will not mine were gflow tested and did not reach what my twisted wedges were box stock....maybe the gt40 y or x's maybe....
