Hi dudes

I have a 95' GT with AODE and was planning to swap the auto with a T-5 in the near future. I came up with some numbers from the local mustang performance shop and wanted to know your opinion. They sell the complete swap kit including a used T-5 for $2186 and the same kit with rebuilt T-5 for $2400, and finally $2900 with new T-5. Do you guys think this is it little bit too pricy??? Can anyone tell me where I may find similar kits for lower prices??? You can see these kits at ampperformance.com under tranmissions (online shopping). any help is appreciated.

in my opinion...you can do a lot better than that...mine ended up costin about 700 and thats with like 200 of shipping costs...that was a used trans...but has worked perfect...as long as ur aode is still working fine i would try to piece together all the stuff seperatly it might take a little bit longer..but it will be worth it when its a lot cheaper than it would have to been to by the "kit"...

Hey 94YELLOW50,

Since you did a swap on a 94, did you do it yourself or did you take it to a shop? How does it feel. Does it feel like a solid well done swap or is it a funky job? what im trying to say is, would it will as if I was driving a 94 gt with factory t5???

well actually ive done 2...my 94 an my buddies 95...anyway..yes my car drives as if it came stock with everything except for the fact that both cars can be started with the clutch not depressed...works fine cuz im pretty much the only one who drives my car..and his has a remote starter anyway so as long as his in neutral he can still use that...both of them done at my buddies garage because just wasnt room in mine at the time plus his has a pit to work in...and for it to work perfectly u either need a manual computer or get urs reprogramed

imo if you plan to dog it hard or add more than 30-50hp, get a better trans like a tko or
g force/astro t5.
