Valve cover gaskets

Valve cover gaskets
I asked this once before and was a little confused on the responses I got. In order to replace the valve cove gaskets on my 86GT, does any of the intake components need to be removed?
After looking at it, I cant see how I would gain access to the valve cover bolts near the intake.

RE: Valve cover gaskets
you shouldnt have to completely remove the upper plenum just enough to take the bolts out of the top of the driver side valve cover, all the vacuum lines can stay on as long as they arent in the way, which i dont remember them being.

RE: Valve cover gaskets
I just changed the covers on my 86. Did not have to remove or loosen the plenum at all, the cover rolls out from underneath just fine. The throtle body will have to be removed and just loosen the black coolant pipe from the lower intake and move it a little bit to get the other one out, just be careful not to break the black coolant pipe. Get felpro rubber gaskets instead of cork. A short extension and shallow socked will reach the bolts inthe cover under the plenum. Use a 1/4 in ratchet and extension for tight spots.
