Default Bypassing the heater core

So the heater core is shot in my car and since the car will be off the road by the end of September I figured instead of going through the hassle of tearing the dash apart I would just bypass the damn thing. I was planning on removing the two hoses that are attached to the metal parts coming up by the intake, then just use a small piece of the hose to connect the two together. Next I was thinking of using a small air pump or something to get whatever coolant might be in the core out, then plug the two hoses. Does this sound like it would work, or is there an easier way to go about this?

And since I don't plan on using the car in the winter anyway, is there anything other than the line for the coolant to flow to the TB that is connected to those rails? If not I'm going to just bypass the whole rail as its easier to get to the front than it is to try to squeeze in behind the intake manifold.

i dont believe there is, and the lines to the t/b rob you of power anyway, might as well delete them

The theory behind that would be heating the air charge right? I could see something else on the rails but I'm assuming it isn't too important for critical engine function.

yes, but there really isnt a use for it, plenty of people just delete the egr and then you dont even have the passages for it and you just cap off the lines

But you went from the front of the rail, or did you just bypass the core itself and not the TB coolant line as well?

So just remove the EGR and bolt the TB directly to the intake?
And that question above is for 88TTOP

If I remove the EGR will I be able to reuse the bolts, or should I just remove the line for now and remove the EGR when I get the right hardware?
