the built not bought car. i have a question what does it take to do the quarter window conversion from the 79-86 to the 87-93
do a search, this was covered many times, or heres an idea, make ur own thread!!!

86 yeah i got headers, o/r h, and flows
Your probably running rich because your cats cause some restriction and build heat to give your O2's a better reading. Once those are gone your exhaust passes by the O2 faster causing it to read lean even though it's not. Wideband O2's will help. You could try cutting your FP down some even though your computer tries to compensate. A chip could help out as well. Not sure about any mass air tricks as I'm SD.

didnt he say he has an "o/r h" pipe?.... no cats bro!. And those performance chips usually richen the mix.

you smell unburnt fuel from not having cats. its fine now if its too rich check your plugs, also check to make sure your O2s are working properly

That's what I was saying. The cats cause restriction allowing the O2's to get a better reading. Not having them causes the gasses to go by faster (no restriction) and makes the O2's think the car is lean and the computer tries to compensate. I was speaking more of a custom burnt chip. The smell is one thing but if the mileage is down then you need to look into something.

oh ok. It just sounded different i guess. Them custom chips are a freakin fortune (approx. $400). I think that i need a custom chip for my crate engine.

This is from the local dyno shop. They raised the prices this year but are still reasonable.

Rates:

We offer 3 consecutive dyno pulls with air/fuel ratio for $75

You can rent the dyno for tuning for $100/hour. We will assist you in tuning your car to get the maximum power available.

Superchips Custom Tuning is available for $399. This includes a custom burned chip for your car with dyno-tuning. We can monitor your air/fuel as well as every parameter of your vehicle with our OBDII datalogging software. This way we can give you the max performance while keeping the parameters safe. We burn the chips right at our shop and can re-program the chip for future mods that you do.
