Default Going Stock

hey guys do you think it is alright to drag at the strip wit ha stock 5.0 its a 1986 w/ 3.08 rears all it has is flowmasters, K&N, eibach springs, and KYB shocks and struts. my dad and i got into an arguement and he said that ill break a driveshaft or blow something up, but in a way he is right because anything can go wrong i guess. but let me hear what yall have to say

you'll be fine. just don't launch off the rev-limiter or anything like that. ask him what he would rather you do: race on the street or the track? good luck and be careful!

Won't do anything. It is the same thing as taking off fast at a stop light. Also a burnout is the worse thing that can be done on a stock car. If you have done that then the track will be no worse.

Just do what you want at the track. I just suggest you don't powershift down the track. Doing this and doing it wrong once will leave your tranny at the track so to speak.

you wont hurt anything, I went to the track when my 86 was stock and every was fine, how many miles does your car have?

hell yeah, it will be fine, people do it every day. its just gonna spin. Now when you get some slicks and get some serious traction thats when things break. I would just launch it at idle and go with it. Good Luck and have fun.

i take my 95' to the track is not entirely stock but close, youll be fine, even if u dont launch at idle, just dont go too crazy with the rev

I have taken my 93 gt 5 speed wit 90k miles on it pretty much stock and speed shifted at 5500 rpm all the way down the track about 6 times so far and it runs like new afterward everytime. i cant wait to go back and race again.
