but were you spraying? if so i'm not surprised it could have killed a rod. it's a stock motor with bolt ons, and it seems like you spray the pi$$ out of it. dont get me wrong a little spray is cool, but doing it too much to a motor that isn't BUILT will kill it [:@]

stock rod bolts and spray don't work well togather,look for a shortblock

I wasnt even spraying when it happened. Just a n/a 1-2 shift.It sounds like a rod bearing might have grenaded. I might even be able to get away with just dropping the oil pan and do the bearing like that. But i dont get why that would happen. I just changed the oil too, plus new radiator, 02s... the list goes on[:@]

I had something similar happen in a chevy truck. It was a 5-spd..totally different scenario, but same circumstances..sounded just like that when youd go to start it up again. snapped a connecting rod.
