This is wha I mean.....http://www.fordcobraengines.com/350HP.htm

and for the same price...look what Chevy gives you....http://www.enginefactory.com/stroker.htm
*cough* JUNK *cough* what?[8D]
why dont you look at a better builder? instead of looking for the cheapest route which will normally break quickly, how about you actually get a good motor that will last..... aka a ford small block! fords make better power than chevys, it's why chevy had to throw the 350 in the iroc z to keep pace with our 302, and it still ran the same et stock for stock 15.2 WITH A 350!!! cevy =[:'(]
Nice job, you get the fanboy of the month award.

Because you came into a tech thread, talked a bunch of crap, showed that you really have no idea what you are talking about, pretty much just "bla bla bla Chevys suck". The idea in the tech sections is to actually add to the topic at hand.

6500 builds a 408 that makes that 383 look like junk.

both chevy and ford make power and depending on your displacement to each they are going to be somewhat, i repeat somewhat comparable. I justknow when Ilook at a classic like a camaro, i dont want him to pop the hood and see a hondaengine with a turbo just because it was cheaper to build and makes more power. maybe thats goinextreme with it but you get the idea.

you really need to look at what your trying to accomplish for the car.for a street daily driver thats fast and not too heavy in the front end to handle like a boat, my preference would be a small block ford with a syntripical supercharger. Its an awesome set up capable of 700 plus horsepower depending on some things, 500+ would not be an issue and is easier to get to hook than lets say a turbo car. some will say "no replacement for displacement", just like some will be in favor of the bottle and some will say "babies suck on bottles, real men get blown"

take someadvice for someone who built a nice 302 with nitrous making 400 to the wheels and after taking a ride in a 10.5 secondiron headed small block with an s-trim wishing he would have done that set up for about $3,000 more. now the downside of the 650 hp 302 with the strim is that thing rattles, creaks, and makes noises ive never heard a car make because of the power its making and not having enough reinforcment such as a cage. so moral is there are ups and downs to everything.

its all in what you want, what your trying to accomplish, do your homework, dont rush...

Does anyone know what I will need to swap a chevy into my 88 LX 5 speed

First thing you will need is a lobotomy (ha ha, you new it was coming!)
