CHEVY SWAP.....
I cant believe the cost of small block ford engines...I can get a 575hp 383 chevy for almost 2000 less than a 430 hp 347!![:@] Does anyone know what I will need to swap a chevy into my 88 LX 5 speed, or know where I can get all the info?

Oh im sure my flame suit is in order for this one but, whatever, maybe someone will have a genuine answer for me. I have been through google and have found little to nothing. I know I cant be alone on this opinion of how expensive SBFs are...

It can be done very easily... People do it around here alot, im not gonna lie they are pretty sick... From what ive heard, all you really need is a k member swap. http://www.ajeracing.com/mustang.php
Im not all about taking sides when it comes to ford vs chevy blah blah blah.F bodies are ugly andall, but they have one hell of a motor!I think a h/c/i LS1 fox would be a beast.

I have to admit he has a point. Parts/upgrades for the small block Chevy are the cheapest parts out there. Having owned many performance Chevy's I can tell you that the 350 Chevy really accepts upgrades well. I'm brand new to the 5.0 scene and I'm suprised at how much some stuff costs.
Now that being said, I recently spent several years restoring my 71 Lemans Sport Convertible. I spent a crapload of money doing up a pretty powerful 455 Pontiac for it. I could have spent a LOT less on a big block Chevy, but to me popping the hood of my Pontiac and seeing a big block Chevy just doesn't seem right.

Know exactly what you are saying. This is my first ever ford. my dad brought me up around BBC and Hemi roadrunners ,so even though he says he disowns me(I'm 42). We have a ton of chevy parts around including 327/365 lg journals,4 or 5 350 4 bolt main engines, an ls6 , yes 454/450hp complete from a 1970 chevelle.Green rods ,pink rods ,double hump heads. It would be easy to swap one, but it would'nt be right. I towed a 70 cheveele bb car with a 66 SS elcamino when I was young, but I love my stang. It has been the most fun build I have ever done ,and this forum has been endless for help and info. Ever try to explain to an old school streetrodder(my dad) that useing nitrous to push more O is the same as his old school 671 blower?
