Windsor vs Clevaland?

RE: Windsor vs Clevaland?
The cleveland and windsor are two completely diff motors. The parts are not interchangable. My buddy has a 351 cleveland in his 71 mach1 mustang and parts for it are not as easy to come by as the windsors and cost more. The 351W are more or less like the 302 with a taller deck. I think the last clevelands came out in the 70s and the last 351 I think was in the late 90s in the f-series.

yes a 347 is capable of 400 hp, but the cam would have to be pretty radical. it would be much easier with a 351. out of the 2 i would suggest a 351W. easier to get parts for

Yes, the two 351's are very different. I have a 351c in my 73 Mach and am very happy with the performance. I have also driven rides with the 351w and those were fun rides too. For a small car where room under the hood is at a minimum and excess weight is a concern, the windsor is the best bet. For a larger car, I think the Cleveland is a better choice. I could be wrong but IMHO I think the Cleveland will take more abuse than the Windsor. I think there is also a difference in the porting of the heads with the advantage going to the Cleveland.

I have pic's but they seem to be too big to upload here. I guess that's appropriate since the car is so big!
Give me your addr and I'll send them to you.
I'll see if I can lower the resolution and post here later.

Here's one of my 73 Mach. I've had the car since 1977. I'm the 2nd owner.
I had the factory alum mags off the car when the pic was taken. I have to drill out the screws in the center caps to get some new tires mounted.

Thanks for the compliment! I sure have put a lot of time in it over the years. I'm planning on keeping it for now. It's got an older ground-up restoration but still looks really good. It just turned over 100k last summer.
I've been looking for a project car for my son who is currently learning to drive. I picked up a 92 GT convertible stick for him that was in really great shape, 92k & new tires for 3,500. Well it was supposed to be for him anyway. After I test drove the GT I had to get that for myself. That's a bit tooooo fast and tooooo fun to drive for someone just getting a license. Maybe in a few more years... NAW! I've been driving it daily in good weather but am going to paint it this spring.
You guys are right about the parts for the Windsor being easier to come by. The Cleveland parts can be found but sometimes you really have to search for some items. The salvage yards in this area have been picked pretty clean.
