If you're running rich, that would contribute to carbon build up in the engine, thus your excessively darkened oil. Excessive piston ring blow by from a worn engine as someone else pointed out here could be the cause as well. The gunk from the oil could be pluggin the sensor for your oil pressure which is tripping the light. What weight of oil and how often do you change it?

When did you start noticing the darkening?

i use castrol 10w-40 and i changed it twice in the last 2 months filter and all, each time oil has been dark dark black
