Default FORGED crankshafts for $299????

Hey guys, take a look at this, I saw this on ebay, let me know if you have any info on if these are any good:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=34203

Supposedly it's a brand new forged steel crankshaft for $299, when forged cranks usually go for $500-$800 in most catalogues.

Is this like a crap crank? One that will need something else to work, etc...

I just want to know if this is worth the money, and if I was to bore out my block to a 306 (to clean up the cylinder walls) anyone have a link to new forged pistons and rods for it?

I don't really know the exact lengths, types of pistons, that kind of thing, I need your help with this stuff...

The CAT line of products is known to be complete garbage as far as Pontiacs go, so I would say if its garbage for one series then its garbage across the board. Also the seller has 6 bad feedbacks in 6 months (reading the feedbacks) = scam artist in my book beware!!!!! The Pontiac stuff needed to be remachined as they were in real bad shape, some cranks couldn't even be used.

when you buy a forged 4340 crank for 300 bucks you should expect to have quite a bit of work done to it to make it ready to run. Polishing, balancing, maybe even have it turned, bottom line if you want a race ready forgde crank buy a LUNATI and be done with it. I personally think CAT makes a good product and is worth 300 bucks for the crank and the extra 150 for the machineing to make it ready, because the 4340 fordge steel is as stong as the next guys arguleby!

Checkk out www.catpep.com and give them a call, its wort looking into.

He is not a scammer. Notice the power seller icon next to his name? And 6 negitive feedbacks is not to bad for 6 months. Notice all the positive one's? its like 90% positive. Im not a big fan of buying over ebay but I would trust this seller. Sry but I know nothing about cranks so cant help ya there.

90% postive feedback is kind of bad for ebay...I draw the line at 95-98%

The seller has 98.8% positive feedbacks. I was just guessing earlier.

Oh, this is not about the buyer, don't worry, I know how to check feedback. I was mainly asking what you thought about that namebrand of crank. I figured it can't be good if it's less than half the cost of the cheapest forged crank I thought existed.

Well, so what do you people recommend, and where is the best place to get it at the best price?
