Default difference in exhaust

Anyone know what the difference is in the exhaust systems between the cobra and the gt from 94 ? I have a 94 gt and it purrs, but I was next to a cobra yesterday that sounded so beautiful, and i'd love to have that system on my gt. Would it be a direct bolt-on, or would the difference in the motor make it impossible to have this beautiful sound?

It could have had a number of any exhuast systems on it, but 94 GTs and Cobras use the same catbacks as far as fitment goes.

I'm trying to get the same sound that comes from a cobra. It has a very nice purr to it and i'm wondering what it uses to do so. The gt has a nice hot-rod sound to it, but the cobra has a deeper, richer purr and that's what i'm trying to get out of it. Maybe it's not catback side, maybe it has different exhaust manifold?

How do you know that cobra you were beside didn't have an aftermarket exhaust?

it was probably a 4.6L 4 valve... because my cobra sounded just like every other 5.0 out there

That's what I was thinking. The 5.0 cobra's had the same motor as a gt besides the intake and injectors right?

Cobras do actually have a slightly different exhaust setup than the GTs. The pipingis the same but the mufflers themselves are basically the same as 2 chamber flowmasters. They aren't that much different though and changing for an aftermarket exhaust would give better results.

Wouldn't the cobra heads make it sound a little deeper too since they flow better?

Dont the 5.0s sound better than the 4.6s? Louder, deeper, ext..
I would just throw on an o/r h pipe and a nice catback if you want some sound. I just bought a full header back system from bbk and slp performance. If you want a LOUD system go with Loudmouth Exhaust
