Blown engine, suggestion on swap
Hey, im new to this forum, so bear with me. I have a 84 mustang Gt convertible 5 speed anniversary edition, and i would like to restore it. The problem: Someone decided to try to redline it.. Thats the last time i let a "friend" try to borrow my car... Anyway my question is what should i use as a replacement engine? should i go for another 302, or a 305 or 350? I am looking for street performance (No strips anywhere where i live) that will be reasonable on gas but still shove you into the trunk when you accelerate. Help? Thanks

305 0r 350that = chevy.......just find a decent 302 roller block and have it rebuilt and throw a decent cam , heads and intake on and headers with free flow exhaust

My budget is right around 1200-1500, and yes lol, im aware that a 305 and 350 are chevy, theres always the tranny n motor mount swap too. so yea, what kind of performance could i get off my miniscule budget?

I just had another thought.. how expensive would it be, or would it even be possible, to rebore the engine and just get a new set of pistons? There is no actual cylinder marring that i can see, just 2 or 3 seized pistons.
