Dual Plane, or Single Plane??

RE: Dual Plane, or Single Plane??
To offer a differing view on this: I installed a Edelbrock Torquer 289 similar to Weiand 7515 single plane (carb flange slightly twisted) on a 1989 fox I built for a bud, I got it in trade so heck why not use it, also the car was supposed to be our drag car project but heck I built it and took it to track once, then he mandated it stored permanately in back yard in a fortress of weeds... well I just want to say that it has a bone stock 1986 5.0 H.O. (only mod mac long tubes) stock and darn tired AOD, 8.8 with 3.55 and the damn thing runs SO smooth, I WISH I could DD this car, it idles like a kitten really this car is the smoothest carb car I have ever come across, yes it has the roller cam and it is a stock engine with 9.2:1 CR but MAN it is silky with that primitive single plane
I have tried 3 carbs on the car and it ran just as smooth
Holley with top plate
Holley ?4160???
Carter AFB
Haa ha its just that you know if you get something for free or really cheap, heck I wouldnt guess that these intakes would be in high demand so if you can get one for nothing it might run really really nice like this one, also its not super tall compared to some intakes so there's that

It has a carb spacer on it in this picture, hmm to think of it - it always had that spacer on it regardless of carb..

RE: Dual Plane, or Single Plane??
Its a stock bottom end, with GT40 Turbo Swirl heads,1.7 rockers, .513/.529 Crane Cam,used to have EFI with Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, 24lb. Injectors with bigger mass air, SCT chip, but recently had some wiring harness issues and that was the last straw for the EFI. Just ordered a Performer dual planeand the rest of my goodies. another question though, when i get rid of my computer and wiring harness what can i and cant i....get rid of. Pretty much when i wire my new ignition box(Summit Racing) will i need any of that harness.
