RE: cam install
ttt for you. i won't be much help but i know that you have to remove all accesories, radiator, and a bunch of other stuff. i also know that you have to be very careful when pulling the cam out and reinstalling it. if you are not carefull you could mess up the cam bearings. you will also have to decide whether you want to intall the cam straight up, retarded or advanced. advanced gives you more high rpm power but less low end. it might be the opposite, i'm not positive. search the net for a write up on a cam install on a 5.0 im sure there is some out there.

RE: cam install
if you plan on running any poweradders you should install the cam straight up with no advance or retard.
get a new timing chain too.
and if the harmonic balancers rubber is cracking or pushing out get a new one.
I did one about a month ago,
drain the coolant and take out the radiator
you need to take your power steering off the bracket and put it aside, then the bracket that goes to the water pump power steering and A/C
take out the top bolt for your alternator, loosen the bottom one and pull it aside,
take off the tensioner, then the water pump, take off the crank pulley and harmonic balancer and the timing cover. (the timing cover has 4 bolts underneath holding to the oil pan.2x10mm
2x13mm)
you will be able to see the timing set now, take off the cam bolt and remove the chain and sprockets.
there will be 2 screws behind the cam sprocket (10mm), take them off and then you can take the cam out.
it is easier to take it out if you partially screw the cam bolt in and use it for extra leverage.
and be careful, and take your time.
double check the torque of bolts before going on to the next step.
when I did it, I couldn't remember if I torqued the cam bolt and thrust plate bolts, so I had to take everything back apart and do it again.
and get lots of good silicone, I prefer permatex ultra blue.
hope this helps.
