whether u go carb or efi its a science. if you are talking to someone who is into carbs he'll say go carb and vise versa with efi. each has its advantage and disadvantage. personally i have efi. if i had the oppurtunity money wise yes i would go to carb. i love old school performance and can work a carb better than efi. but yet i've learned SO SO SO much through this site and books and magazines that i can honestly say i can tune an efi quite well. to each its own. if the motor has efi on it already keep it. you'll love it. if it has no top end...sure go carbed.

no carb won't make it sound any different....and no on the gas issue and you don't per say make a tune you perform one to it via jets, set timing, adjust accelerator pump circuits, tune the idle circuit and cruise mode ect ect...
eh i think carbed 5.0's have a bit of a different exhaust note then efi not by a whole lot though

I prefer carbs, but my advice is always if you don't know how to tune a carb, don't use one. To really get them dialed so you gain performance over fuel injection(or at least equal to) you have to have a good idea how they work and how to diagnose problems with the fuel and ignition system. If you want to go carb then yeah, get a good carb book and learn BEFORE you attempt to tune one yourself. If you just jump in you're more likely than not going to end up with a poorly tuned car that won't run right, get lousy mileage and be a general pain to drive.
