getting my stang running

getting my stang running
I just put my rebuilt tranny back in the stang. The stang had been sitting for a couple years while I did this and other resto things like rims and interior. The car is pretty much finished besides a few small things and oh ya, getting it to start again!
It wouldnt crank. So I jumped it and got interior gauges to light up but no crank, no turn over. I found the battery to be bad so I replaced it and tried again. Now I get great juice but still no crank/turnover.
Well I guess Ill check the starter relay and starter next. But one thing: there is a sensor missing in the tranny. Could this cause it not to start? Ive asked at another forum and they said no. Its either the neutral sensor or the backup sensor I think.
Anyways, any help is muuuch apreciated guys and gals. Thanks!
Oh and Ill be selling this stang once it starts up! 110k miles and in great restorated condition.
Its a 89 hatchback Lx 5.0 in marroon color.

RE: getting my stang running
if it's a 5 spd no sensor missing wouldn't...grab your test light and check for current on small wire to selonoid while key is held in crank position ..if you got current there , check for current on wire to starter while held in crank position = current should exist ..if it does..could be a bad starter or case ground

RE: getting my stang running
I took some pics of this tranny sensor problem Im having. Since the car wont start, and it could be the sensor issue, Ive decided to try and fix this and see if it will start.
So can anyone tell me what sensor is missing? There is two prongs sticking from a sensor in the side of the tranny see pic.
There is also a sensor tail hanging with nothing to plug into see pic.
Thanks guys. I need to get this fixed and I dont have access to alot of tools unless I bother my pops and get him to come look at things..

if that harness has a pink/white and a red/blue wire they need to be jumped together.
is the car originally a 5spd?
