wipers not parking
need help. wipers are not parking when running and shutting and off. They stop wherever they are when you turn off the switch. They also run at regular speed when switch is on intermittant and stop wherever they are when you turn off the switch. Is it the motor or the switch. Do not want to buy them both if I donot have to. Wiper motor is a two plug motor. Can somebody help me?

RE: wipers not parking
park position is often incorporated into motor assembley so most likely motor assembley would be the first place to start and looking at diagram I see park position is in motor assembley..as for the run at reg speed in the intermitent position..your vehicle pending on the year is equipped with an interval governor for the wiper system which regulates interval timer.....you may have a prob with it..but first I'd get park position via a motor corrected and see if that fixes it all also no matter what position you put it in ..in the intermitent position it operates in constant mode??? year of car would help so my diagrams are correct

RE: wipers not parking
It is 88 mustang gt. They run at regular speed in any intermiitiant position. i will get a wiper motor and start from there but where is that internal governor that you were talking about? Thanx for your help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: wipers not parking
all it tells me is it's under the dash left hand side...never had anissue with such and testing says if no other probs are evident then check that..but you do have a park position issue so I can't completely rule out the internal resistor in the switch assembly but most of the time with park position probs..issue has been in motor, so without testing it all I'd guess first start with motor assembly
