Default Dowel pins

i was cleaning off the block, and noticed i lost a dowel pin. when i took it apart, i made sure they were all there, so i have no idea what happened to it

my question is, since im going to be using head studs instead of bolts, do i need to keep the dowel pins in there?

yes you need the dowl pins it centers and holds gasket in place and look to see if it isn't stuck in one of the heads you removed

i had 1011's and they didn't have dowel pins, i didn't think about them, put the gaskets on and torqued it down, needless to say i ruined that set of gaskets, then got 9333's and they didn't have any "built in" either, had to tear apart the old motor to get those out. so i'm pretty sure ur gaskets don't have them in it.
