Default RE: stock radiator efficiency

mine is a 3 core.... the car was set up like this when i got it... the only change i did so far was taking the 160 thermostat out and putting in a new 195... one fan is in front on the ac.. i dont know what kind of fans they are. the water pump looks new.with the 160 in it, it would go to 180 and stay there fine while idling.. but going down the road would over heat..now that i put the 195 in it... it goes to about 215 and hasnt gone higher than that... so i guess its fine according to hackgt350....

This problem is not the fans. After about 40 mph fans do nothing except blow air through the rad that already flowing through the rad.

Fans are for cooling during idle and low speed driving.

Start with the radiator. Either replace it or have it flow checked.

An old backyard check would be to remove it from the car. Plug the bottom hose neck. Tilt the rad and fill it with water. This is not a scientific test but after it's full. Release the plug which is usually the palm of your hand. A good rad should let the water fall out in like 1 sec.
