from what i understand to that if you put to big of an exhaust on some motors,lets say stock, it actually screws ya cause supposley the 302 makes alot of its power from the back pressure...true? i dunno...sounds good though..

Lets evaluate your situation.

You took and upgraded your exhaust piping to that of a bigger OD',from the motor back, so now the original thrust is gone(torque), in the lower rpm's.


Well now, you have the exiting of air improved, its time toupgrade the intake of air to take advantage of the "exiting of air" "your exhaust upgrade".


The 302 is a air pump like any other engine.
