Default T-5 to C-4 trans swap

I'm looking at a C-4 trans on ebay. It came out of a 1976 mustang and has a 26 spline input shaft. I know i will need a Stall converter and different flywheel....will i need a new bell housing to do the swap? And is the 26 spline compatable or will i have to pull my T-5 and see what shaft it has?

You will need
Flexplate 157 or 164 tooth
The bellhousing that matches either of the flexplates
torque converter
dipstick
and a crossmember

and yes 26 spline is what u have

Is either one of the flex plates better than the other? Where can i pick up a cross member? Without the cost of the trans itself what am i looking at price wise to do the swap?

your stock cross member will work you will need to cut the weld on the ends where the bolt goes and move the cross member all the way forward. or you can just elongate the holes more to the frontother then that it works tight but works.a 157 flywheel will let you run a smaller bell and that means more room to work on stuff. I have run both and Iprefer the small.
