ok it's official...there HAS to be something up with this car!

I've been driving it around for the last few days...and the first time I was driving it...I felt something was not right..

then in the next couple days...it was definitely not any better!

this is whats happening

when I drive I have the V8 power up until about 3,500k (in whatever gear I am in) and then suddenly I have NO pull at all!!...it's like suddenly the car is maxed out on the gear?? like wtf!

so I can't accelerate for ****!! something is going on! I also have been hearing "clanking" and "popping" noises coming from under the car (not back-fire from the exhaust)

I mean yesterday was pathetic....I was going 65 and had no pull left (I was in 5th) so I went back to 4th...and the car WOULD NOT accelerate...it was just "out of breath" so to speak

what could the issue be???? help!!!

Check your timing it could be off. It sound like a clogged fuel filter not lettong the proper amount of fuel get to the injectors at higher rpm.

Do a tune up then see what happens.

fuel tank baffle.
replace the tank. problem solved.

Why would the baffle be the problem? Maybe if it came loose and was getting stuck to the pump but doubtfull.

its not doubtful at all. its a very common problem with 5.0s. Ive had 3 of these cars and needed to replace the tank in each one. the baffle breaks loose and the fuel slosh creates an inconsistent fuel flow, causing his problems.

want to test it? get your car down to a 1/4 tank or less, and take a right hand turn as quick as you safely can, and nail the throttle coming out of it. if the car falls on its face, and then quickly snaps back to life like a raped ape, its the baffle.

edit: on a side note, that clanking he is hearing is the baffle floating around whackin the tank walls.

also, when the baffle lets go, it usually takes out the sending unit with it.
if your fuel gauge doesnt work either, thats even more confirmation.

first and foremost if gas gauge is fine you nee to perform a fuel pressure test and compare it to spec under load.......could be simple as a clogged filter after that a koer test and check for codes
