Default car pinging

Today I just filled up the stang with some 7/11 gas. It was the cheapest price i found. And i was on empty so i filled it up. Right when i left i felt a lack of power just driving it normally, it seemed to lag a lil bit and lose a lil pep. Then im gettin on the highway and i have to get on it, and its pinging like crazy. Could the cheap gas cause this?
It was also pinging like 2 months ago when i bought it, but i did a full tune up and it never pinged again. untill after i put in that gas.

put some octane booster in and when your cheap you get what you pay for...if timing has been advanced from stock setting of 10 degrees you should be running premium fuel also another thing to think about is it also can be a result of carbon build up in the cumbustion chamber of heads and on top of pistons which elevates compression and cylinder temps resulting in pinging/ spark detonation...a good induction clean/ seafoam treatment can help cure the prob if this is related

I assume you used 87 octane. In my experience when my car was stock(95) it would ping all the time with 87. Iron heads and high heat only made the problem worse. Running 93 fixed the problem most of the time. Go to the parts store and pick up a bottle of octane booster. It should help the problem. I think your problem lies in just a bad tank of gas.

ok i got someoctane boost ill see if that works. as far as the seafoam goes, i did that when i did the tune up and the pinging went away. so i guess its prob the cheap gas this time. thats what i get, i should have just paid a few centa gallon more. i didnt think the gas would suck this bad.

honestly if ya think about it. if ya really wanna save on gas STOP GETTING ON IT HAHAHAHA jk who can resist that with a stang. honeslty 9.99for 87 or 10.0238 for 93, do we have to be that critical about it? HAHAHAHAHAAh yikes gas will probably be 10 a gallon soon in Ny =(

Yeah... one time I almost ran out of gas on the 5 fwy, and the ONLY station was a USA station. I put about 3/4 tank of premium and thats the last time I ever used anything but Shell or Chevron

Get rid of that gas and dont go back there.. High water+ethanol - octane = bad gas +pinging
