2nd new battery and now the car won't start again, please help me>>
ok it's an 89' fox with a 85 H.O 302, i put a brand new battery in it when i got the car and three days later the car wouldn;t start so i think its gotta be the alternator?? took it to advance and it tested fine. so i charged the batt. and took the car to advance and let them hook it up to their machine and they said the battery was fried, and gave me a new one. it's been about three or four days since then and i drove the car this evening about 15 miles back to my house, shut the car off to open the garage door and went to restart it and it won't start, it's turning over but the voltage gauge on the dash drops down as far as it can go every time i turn the key?? could the alt be working sometimes and then not working, and draining the batt when it's not working?? bad voltage regulator on the alt?? im getting really tired of this problem, and any help you guys have would be great. thank
i think it's a problem with the voltage reg. on the alt

sounds like a charging system issue.. I'd charge up the battery and have a proffessional load test performed on alt at a shop not Autozone or simialar places. make sure said test is done with alt still on car

The whole turning it off and trying to start it right away proplem could be caused by your starter. Fox's had the problem with the starter getting too hot because they were so close to the headers. That's why once it's cooled down it probably starts up easily but when it's hot it puts a large load on the battery and will not want to start. As for the first battery being bad that could just be a coincidence.
